A BIT OF RANTING

September 23, 2008 / by maggiemae

RANT #1

No matter how many times I think I've taught TOWEL HANGING 101, you would think I've never even mentioned the concept!  Every day, there are towels on the floor.  It's not as if I am sooo picky that I demand my towels to be hung in perfectly arranged, color coordinated rows that take a masters degree in interior arrangement to do.  (In my dreams, perhaps).  Nope.  I have PEGS.  You just REACH...and HOOK!  How hard can that be?

RANT #2

If anyone else had had the experience of unclogging a drain, they might remember to replace the drain catch so that disgusting lumps of food don't go down there and PUTRIFY in the U-joint.  Today I discovered that someone actually DID put the drain catch in...UPSIDE-DOWN!  It caught the stuff.  But what happens when you have to pull it out?  All the stuff falls down the drain!  LOVELY!

RANT #3

Today I discovered the jam, peanut butter, and honey, all without their lids!  Do people actually LIKE fruitflies in their food?  Then, there's the BREAD...left open to dry out...and NOT put back into the bread cupboard.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

In a way, it's nice to have these relatively small things to rant about.  Things have certainly been a LOT worse.  But now that we have PEACE...dare I hope for ORDER?

Thanks for the Happy Fall.  I'm quite excited about it!  :D

I totally understand the towel rant.  I hate stepping on them.

It must be a unniversal thing...loving Fall, and towels on the floor.

Isn't it nice toknow the small things still bother us?   That means the BIG things haven't entirely taken over our lives.

I once used a permanent marker to write on the hot-air popcorn popper "Please put me up when you are through."    Don't remember if it made a difference, but it made me smile the other day when I pulled it out.

Well, since you were having to pull it out...rather than put it away...perhaps that's a good sign!

I can remember those days, but now the children are gone so I could only blame myself.

Oh...yes...I know I do a lot of things that are sloppy too.   And I just don't know what I'll do when they are all gone!  (besides not having anyone to rant about)

I used to take them and throw them on the offenders bed, they would rant they did not belong there and besides THEY WERE WET! LOL  I would just say no wetter than they were on the bathroom floor. Soon they were hanging on the racks-usually. LOL

You mean the towel hanging fairy doesn't come to your house either? I thought I was the only one.

    My kids still believe...!

I wish there was a toilet paper fairy! That is one I still can't get over...I mean, what else do you really have to do while you are sitting there? You can't put the roll on the spring loaded stick?

I know..I know..someday I am going to miss those things. Don't even like thinking about that day. So for now...I don't mind putting the toilet paper on...so much.

  • maggiemae said 1 months ago

Oh yeah...toilet paper used to be a big one at our house!  When we remodeled our bathroom I created a cubby next to the toilet that holds about 4-5 rolls at a time.  We no longer have to put the  roll on the rod thingy!  I also switched to the 1000 sheet rolls, which last about 5 days  per roll instead of 5 hours!  I don't like the paper as much, but it's a small price to pay to make sure it's there for you when you need it.

Anyway...it's nice when you can find one less thing to nag about, or feel crabby about.  Then you can enjoy them more while they're here!
