I have a lot of mixed feelings about that. People are always saying that home schooled children will be at a disadvantage socially. All I can say is that, in general, some people do well, and others do not. Obviously, not every person who struggles this way is home schooled. Others struggle in spite of 12 years in the public school system. I think that innate shyness or personality types are at least as much a part of the equation as anything else.
However, I also know that home schooled children (and parents too) feel less pressure to conform to the 'standards' and 'values' of the rest of the world, and are quite comfortable with whatever differences arise. They are more likely to be 'themselves' without the pressures to 'fit in'. I think they are emotionally happier because of not feeling like they need to 'do all' or 'be all'.
I personally know 5 kids who 'graduated' from home school, having been out of the public school system since early on. Two of these kids were told that they were so low on the IQ scale that they would never be able to even read or write! Not only do they read and write, but they drive and hold down jobs! The other three are still quite young, but seem to be doing fine following higher education or a chosen field. I can tell you for sure that not one of them is battling a drug or alcohol problem.

That's what menopause has been like for me! Though getting my tubes tied helped, not having to ever have periods is the absolute BEST!

No, I never did. I went back to work, but then I took it easier later...with a free conscience. I'm doing much better now, thanks!

I just keep taking excedrin, then I don't feel so bad. But I do feel kind of slow.

Kindergarten was hard...college, not so bad. You know they are ready, and able, and you feel so proud of them! It really is a great thing! But do enjoy them while you can!
